I’ve spoken a lot about the business of eBooks in previous posts, this week I thought it would be good to get back to basics. You want to publish because you are a writer. You wouldn’t be considering turning that manuscript into an eBook for other folk to read otherwise.
So, what are your writing habits? To create a book takes discipline and hard work. What’s your secret? Are you a coffee shop lurker? A late night wordaholic? An early morning stream of conciousness writer?
All writers have a routine that works best for them and they can form an almost supersitious attachment to. One writers late night whisky fuelled plot review might be anothers early morning jog to clear the head and set the pace for the days writing.
Or, like Truman Capote (pictured), you write on a chaise lounge with a glass of cherry in hand and a notebook in the other. What works for you? Leslie Greffenius over at The Review Review sums it up nicely here.

Like running and exercise, it’s best to write every day or at least create a pattern so that you force yourself to stick with it. Plus you never know what might come out of a simple story, just by writing every day you may find yourself leading a character down an interesting path.
For me a nice glass of water and sitting at the computer in my quiet office after lunch work greatly for me. The best way for me to write is with natural light and fresh air after a nice meal. Then I write what I consider to be some amazing things.
