Writing the book of the century is only part of your writers journey.
You may have a written a heartbreaking work of staggering genius, beautifully designed and with a great price point. Your e-book may be sitting pretty on the digital bookshelves of Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Lulu and iTunes bookstore.
It all counts for nothing if no-one but you, your Aunty Mel and the postman know that it’s there. Readers want to know a little about the writer, so if you haven’t already you should be thinking of designing an e-marketing strategy to support and promote your book(s).
This is not as daunting as it sounds and the good news is it cheap and easy to do.
You can easily create a simple and effective website using one of the many low cost template based web tools now available. Hosting sites like Godaddy, Crazy Domains, Square Space and many more can let you create a simple, effective website in an afternoon for less then the money you spend on your daily hit of coffee.
Add a ‘buy the book’ link to the e-book, create an authors profile, put a couple of chapters up for free. If you haven’t already, create a Facebook page to promote the book. Remember to link it back to your website. Put a ‘like’ button on your site. Now you have a complete e-presence. Print some cards.
Talk up your book. Never waste an opportunity to promote it. Buy a domain name for your book or authors name. The game is to make it easy for potential new readers to find, sample and ultimately buy your book.
